Thankful

It has been one of those days and all I really want to write is how thankful I am for the many blessings in my life, big or small. I have great friends and a great family that will be there for me though anything. Please take the time to realize where your blessings come from and to always be thankful for the blessings that you have even when it seems like you can't possibly find one.

Since I started blogging

Since I have started blogging I have stopped writing in my journal. Sometimes I think that is good and other times bad. The problem with blogging is I am always second guessing what I should write, its a big thing to let people into your deepest thoughts. I don't want to offend anyone or write something out of emotion and regret it later. I am a very emotional person I feel what I feel and don't apologize for it. I think that we are all allowed to feel how we want at certain times even if we don't know why we feel that way at the time. Its one thing to write that in a journal so you can go back an reread it later but I whole different story to let other people read it. Not only that but then you wonder, will anyone even care to read about this? I am trying to find that happy medium because I draw perspective from reading old journal post, rather it be a fight with Eric or a happy or sad moment in my life. I guess I am asking for your patience and courtesy as I try to find this happy medium. With that said....

It seems like things are on hold. Currently the company Eric works for is really slow, like slower than they have seen for years.(Big surprise right?) He works for the Rail Road and when he got the job we were so thankful because it was a pretty sure thing that there would never be layoffs. Well never say never because they have laid a lot of guys and Eric is hanging on by a thread with his seniority. He has already had to start working out of a different depot than he's used to and it seems like we are just holding our breath to see if the layoff is going to get to him. When I say things are on hold it's like things we want to do to the house, like a patio, a shed, finish the basement or even buy Eric a jeep. I realize we cant do all of these things at once even if there was no fear of a layoff but now we are to afraid to spend any money out of our savings just in case. As the waiting game goes on we will have to settle for small things we want for our home and pray that either way it goes we will get through it. The Lord has always seen us through and I have no doubt that he will again. (just fyi I really want to delete this whole last paragraph but am making my self post it)

Goop is my new best friend!

Have you ever gotten baby oil, or chap stick, or butter, or any oily substance on your clothes? Well if you're like me then the answer would be yes! In the past if I have gotten some form of oil on my clothes I figured they were ruined and would just use them as rags or something to sleep in.(sexy right???) Anyway, I was telling a girlfriend of mine that I had got some baby oil like stuff on a favorite pair of bermuda shorts and I was so pissed they were ruined. My friend's mom is a laundry connoisseur and she said that GOOP will take it out. Yep I said GOOP, like the stuff to get oil or stains off your hands. Make sure that is says safe for laundry and then smear it on the stain and let it set for awhile, like 20 mins and then just wash in the washer. I didn't even use laundry soap and it came out. I even had a jacket that had gotten stained like a month ago and I thought well might as well try it and yep it worked! GOOP has saved my favorite shorts and a jacket, so I thought it was definitely blog worthy. Good bye stains, hello Goop!

How do we have this much crap?

I cant believe it but my husband and his sister have talked me into having a yard sale! Just so you know I HATE yard sales, or garage sales whatever you call them from where you're from. Anyway, as Eric and I use a rainy afternoon to go through some things in our basement I find myself asking, "where did we have all this crap in our small apartment?" Eric has a bad habit of keeping things but even he let go of some stuff and allowed me to throw some things away. However we had to try to sell a very old pair of Doc Martins for .50 cents when I really wanted to trash them. The nice thing about going through all your junk is we found old pictures from back when we were young and in high school. It was definitely a trip down memory lane. It was also amazing to me how much our decorating taste has changed. Things I just had to have for our apartment I am like, eww I cant believe I loved that so much. I am so thankful for the perspective going through your old things can give you. In the end after I complained about having to do it I earned alot more than a couple of Bridget_19bucks I'll make on a yard sale.

Memorial Day Weekend

It would be selfish to ask for a better weekend than we just had. Great weather, family, and friends. Friday night my friend Amanda and I went out for a little while at a local pub in the area. We reminisced about OLD times, listened to good music and just had a great time. On Saturday Eric and I left for a friends wedding out of town. The weather was beautiful and it was a nice drive over. The wedding was great, the groom is a friend of ours from high school and he has found a great girl. We couldn't be happier for them. Congrats Jacob and Kate. At the reception we ate, drank and caught up with our friends at the reception. After we left there we were staying with our friends Ashley and Jeff that live in the area. We stayed up as late as we could talking and catching up. About 12:30 we had enough and had to hit the sac. Sunday morning was so nice we woke up had coffee and donuts and talked some more. Jeff was dying to make these shake and cook pancakes so he did and they were really good. Eric had to introduce Ashley and Jeff to peanut butter on their pancakes, Jeff seemed to really like it.....Ash not so much but she didn't hate it either. We did more talking and laughing and then went to lunch and were sadly on our way home. It was so nice spending time with them and cant wait to do it again hopefully soon.

Sunday night we went to a little campground fairly close to home and hung out with Brent and Charity, Cody and some of Charity's family. Eric I were almost undefeated playing corn hole until Brent and Randy beat us but I must say it was a close game. It was a nice night to set around the campfire and bullshit about anything and everything that came to mind.

Monday morning was a little disappointing since it was raining but then I thought why not sleep just a little bit longer, so I did. Later I woke up and got some coffee and then looked aimlessly online for some new bedding. After forever online I have it narrowed down at least. After that we got some stuff done around the house and then went to Eric's parents for a cook out. I ate entirely to much but it was all so good I couldn't help myself. It was a nice end to a GREAT weekend.

A small act of kindness

Today after rushing around in IGA getting last minute flowers and cards for Mothers Day like so many people I witnessed a very small but sweet act of kindness. As I was leaving IGA there was a little old lady in front of me that had been using her cart to help her along and as she was leaving a young man was holding the door open for her. He very patiently held the door for her and then me. However after both of us were through the door he continued to help her to her car. He was with 2 other guys and they continued into the store but I watched him as he walked her to her car where someone was waiting for her. I know this seems like really no big deal it was just so nice to see a younger man have so much respect for this elderly women and I wanted to share it with you all. Bridget_19

Random

I have sorta been blogger M.I.A. lately, we have been so busy and I have tried to sit down and write on my blog like 3 times and I get nothing done. So much has been going on and I am overwhelmed with it all. Even now I don't know where to even go with this post. We have been putting more rock in our landscape and looking at trees. My Dad started my stucco finally after almost 2 years and it is looking good besides the outline of a penis that dried into it. I'm serious I will attach a picture it is REALLY classy.

told ya

May is going to be a very busy month for us. We have 2 weddings, 2 graduations and a graduation party. The month will be over before we know it. That's the thing about time its gone in a flash. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get all the stuff done we need to. Our list of spring to do's seems to be getting longer as the day goes on. Our vacation this fall seems to be getting dimmer. Oh well it will be nice to get more stuff done around the house.

My sister and her hubby found some land to buy very close to where there are now. I was SO HAPPY for her, you have no idea. That is what the good news that brought tears to my eyes. I know some of you were thinking prego but nope not this time. They are going to have 18 acres 2 or 3 barns and a house! It is like her dream. They will be able to keep all their horses and their dogs its great!

I have to admit that part of the reason I haven't blogged was I have had an extremely bad attitude and didn't want to come across ungrateful or bitter. The truth is for the people who don't know me I didn't want to seem either of those things because I am not. However I do feel that's why I have a blog so from here on out I will blog about how I feel even if it seems hateful, or any other emotions. I know this was a random post but my head was just all over theBridget_19 place.
